“What he feared the most was that all this hiding had made it impossible for him to ever be found again.” ― John Corey Whaley, Highly Illogical Behavior

Highly Illogical Behavior is sitting one morning through the afternoon to read the whole book because you couldn’t put it down. Grab it tight because here comes the terrifying adventure that John has marvelously crafted for us. – Inkish Kingdoms

Tech Summary: Read from December 30, 2017, to January 1, 2018.

I said it in Goodreads, there is a reason why John Corey Whaley is in my top 3 of favorite authors. So far, I have read them all and I just keep loving them all! Highly Illogical Behavior is such a great title and I love the fact that it deals with agoraphobia and the story goes around that mainly. It is not an LGBTQ+ book that goes around as that is the main topic because I don’t know… being gay is not the main topic of our lives… or at least not for all of us… moving on!

We need to understand what agoraphobia means, and I will tell you, Whaley totally accomplished to explain what it is, and let me tell you, you just learn something new! Look:

Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder in which you fear and avoid places or situations that might cause you to panic and make you feel trapped, helpless or embarrassed.

Most people who have agoraphobia develop it after having one or more panic attacks. People with agoraphobia often have a hard time feeling safe in any public place, especially where crowds gather. The fear can be so overwhelming that you may feel unable to leave your home.
Some people have a panic disorder in addition to agoraphobia. Panic disorder is a type of anxiety disorder in which you experience sudden attacks of extreme fear that reach a peak within a few minutes and trigger intense physical symptoms (panic attacks). You might think that you’re totally losing control, having a heart attack or even dying.
(Agoraphobia information taken from Mayo Clinic website)

Now, you have read that, you will read the book and you will see how perfect and accurate Whaley’s portrayal of this horrible situation is and how he takes a lot of pressure of the sickness through comic relief!

I am not gonna give you a summary of the book because there is why we have Goodreads, so at the bottom, you can check that up!

The book hooked me real bad which is a good thing. I read it so fast and I laughed so much and I even “aww” at some parts. I read people hating one of the characters… Lisa? but I am not sure if I dislike her. I cannot say that she is my favorite character ever but even though she had evil intentions she ends up being honest, real, and a friend. I related to the book because I think we all need to have friends that will relate 90% or more to what we do, so everything is nice, smooth, easy, and fun. I think Solomon, the main character, was lost due to obvious reasons, and Clark was just the perfect addition to the recluse, the ambitious woman, which is the chill kind of dude that is still figuring out where his life is going.

The book is quite simple and is a coming of age kind of book, YA and all that, so you have an idea of the kind of book. What makes it more valuable and lovely to read is the style and the characters that Whaley creates. That I can rescue more about his books are his characters. They are hilarious, original, and it is impossible not to laugh. Something I really like in general is when the parental figures are friends and behave as friends. I think that should be the rule and, again, I can relate totally to that. Parents should be a nagging force, a business couple that works only and forgets about their children, or so old school that diversity scares them to death.

So, the kingdom has given this book:

5 coronas

It seems that your majesty is pleased and the knights have spoken!
