Tech Summary: Read from January 2, 2018, to January 7, 2018.
Okay, so a few years ago I gave it a try and I hate it. Then I watched the movie and was not impressed at all… (Who would? It is terrible)… Then I saw this version, that one that pretty much everyone has xD, and I bought the box on sale… I had to give it a chance and a friend already told me they were good! Or that it keeps getting better!
I am so in love with this book’s accuracy in regards mythology! I know a bit, not a lot but a fair “amount”, and I have said this in Goodreads ( friend me if you haven’t xD) it is so good! Like I totally remember “facts” that I knew but didn’t remember as good. I am also playing God of War (1, 2, and 3) haha so I am on a myth rush! Which I love!
Percy is quite nice as a character. It is the stereotypical character: 12, hero complex… For obvious reasons, rogue, authority issues, but still super attached to his mother, father, super emotional and sentimental ❤ Annabeth, which I called her Anabelle because I scan her name not quite actually reading it xD, it is the typical know it all, smart, bad ass, female character that goes not exactly saving the main guy but more like slapping his face when he doesn’t know his shxt…
This title is totally meant to sell. All kids will love it! Myth, empowerment and will also give the lessons of friendship, family, bravery, and never giving up. It is quite interesting to see how even the “kid” part is still there present in their naiveness, which I will mention in the Sea of Monsters review xD
Besides that, I must tell any haters that this genre is for kids, it is young adult, fantasy so it is obvious that for this audience the main hero is a teenager that will save the world because we all wanted to at some point. So don’t be like ” it is impossible for a kid to do this, like fighting against the main boss” or “it is so immature” … Like bye…
So, the kingdom has given this book:
It seems that your majesty is pleased and the knights have spoken!
