Tech Summary: Read from January 19, 2018, to January 22, 2018.
I have to be brutally honest with this review: I loved it. The saga is just so hooking and appealing if you love mythology, action, fights, and if you get the goosebumps every time you read “FOR OLYMPUS!” which is what happened to me. The formula for this book is completely different from the rest. This time there is no school and no disaster that will push Percy to flee. Here we get directly to the matter: the fight, survival, war, the killing, and the tears.
I haven’t cried with a book in a long time, but don’t take me wrong, it is not like I was devastated but it was so sad… “Ares, to me!” those words make too much sense and I had to shut the book and walk home thinking about my life… (I had to walk anyways so XD)
We see all the main characters, and some others make fundamental moves and make so many changes. They all changed at the end and my perspective and from the other characters’ changed out of their heroic actions. In this title, Percy totally reaches and shows his maturity. Hubris is a flaw from all mythological heroes and Percy’s ego is totally damaged, but he is able to see beyond himself to make the most important move.
Despite all the end of sagas, usually, being super slow. This one does not stop for a second and does not give you a break. You cannot put it down unless you have to walk for a kilometer at night without light… (my daily journey). The resolution it is the typical “with the power of friendship and love” which I find kind of annoying, but again, from this book I expected it and I loved it so much!
So, the kingdom has given this book:
It seems that your majesty is pleased and the knights have spoken!
