“It’s extraordinary how people can take a smile for an invitation to chat.” ― Aurélie Valognes, Out of Sorts

Out of Sorts, Cranky Old Senior, Review, Commentary, Kindle Book.

Tech Summary: Read from February 19, 2018, to March 8, 2018.

Hello, my fellow book dragons! I have come to comment and talk about a book that I made the decision to read! Was it a mistake? Maybe….was it good? no, that much… but do you think it had potential? Yes… I could have been amazing!  but it wasn’t.

I will not bore you with the blurb of the book or anything. Interesting to know, the book started as an indie publishing with Kindle and Amazon… It was translated and now it is sort of a thing… or it was… I don’t know. Anyhow, the book has a lot of similarities to what I have heard about A Man Call Ove… cranky old senior, who hates everything and everyone, but then a new neighbor moves to the building or house next door… So that is pretty much it.

Story:  The story was short but long? Like a year and some time happened in 160 pages or something. It was so fast and so illogical at some point. You were reading when the little girl Juliette goes to his house, he hates her, and then the next chapter they are the best pals ever. Like I get that one needs to develop the story but this fast? There are a lot of blackouts on the story. Like you passed out and wake up in Tijuana? Something like that…

Characters: I don’t even remember the characters of this book. I remember Juliette… the little girl because she was charming, creative, and a book lover ❤ Ferdinand the old guy, I Google the name… He likes to read crime books so good enough, he also hates his neighbors… and it is a mess… and that is it. The villain was just evil and that was all. Nothing else to add. Ferdinand does change 180 degrees in 10 pages… but still not impressed.

The pros: He had two dogs and all the story related to the dogs was so nice and pretty ❤ and sad T_T. He also put a bully on a trash bin… so all good.

I mean there is not much to say about this book. I find it nice but did not love it, and I was not so interested to finish it…

So, the kingdom has given this book: (it was $1.99… that is why it went up to 3)

“Like you passed out and wake up in Tijuana? Something like that…” LOL. That’s a wonderful description XD The little girl sounds cute but everything else sounds like a mess. And a story that is far too fast-paced and not cleverly plotted can always be frustrating. I’m sorry this was a disappointing read for you, but hey, at least it was only $1.99

You liked it?? I laughed so bad when I came up with that idea hahaha but is so true and you are so right! I sometimes when the back to see if I missed something but no… I didn’t. Her participantiong in the book is super important but not that ofter. :/ I love to see the bright side of things! $1.99 is no that bad… Although I got “More Happy Than Not” and “Red Rising” for the same price… So… Overpriced much? Haha
I think the author is amateur, like indie, so I will grant her that the book and her style have potential! 🙂

LOL. Well, it might have been a smidge over-priced when compared to those other two XD But good on you for staying positive and granting her potential. That’s always a wonderful thing to have. So let’s hope her next book is even better 😀

Interesting review for an interesting book. I’ve heard great things about A Man Called Ove, and it’s sort of sad that this book didn’t manage to do just as well!

I totally didn’t haha I know A Man Called Ove is good and it as a movie an all, but this one is really alike but all rushed and lack connection between events! :/
I am happy that you find it interesting! :3
