“And then he smiles, and in all the places around the globe where it’s night, day breaks.” ― Jandy Nelson, The Sky Is Everywhere

Jandy Nelson, I’ll Give You the Sun, love, grief, sisters, sisters love, friends forever, eternal love.

Tech Summary: Read from June 11, 2018, to June 20, 2018.

Hello, my book royalist! Some of you helped me out picking this book! From my post Which book should I read next? Pick one and let me know! This was the second nomination from all the ones that you said! and I was so happy with this reading and I will let you know why!

I honestly can’t find a reason not to give 5 stars to this little gem! I read “I think the heart of every living thing on Earth is beating in my body”― Jandy Nelson, I’ll Give You the Sun a few months ago, a long time ago actually XD, and I loved it so much. This one is not as fluffy or as sweet as that one since the whole theme and topic of grief and sadness is stronger. I think it was stronger than in I’ll Give You the Sun. It is so typical from Jandy Nelson to have so much love and art in her books. Here we see how the main character and her sister are so artistic and so talented! It gives me the impression that the arts are not dead and that you can still fight for your artistic dreams!

I find Nelson’s writing amazingly beautiful! it makes me feel warm and happy when I read her work. The whole drama of love and loss, and the constant look up to shut down grief in hands of someone that actually understands… and this is so artistically real! I love the message from the book and how a mother is not exactly that one that gives your life but that one that cares for you, rises you, and loves you.

The symbolism of the plan was beautiful, and I like the idea that this book will help people understand that even though you are left behind you still have the right to love, live, have dreams, and to fight for them.

Question time!

So, Jandy Nelson has these two books, which one is your favorite one?

I’m glad you enjoyed reading this book. I usually stay away from reading anything with grief, love and loss because it will make me cry a river but that’s awesome that this book wins you over. Great review!
