I have never read a book during Xmas that was about… well Xmas! My work book-club voted for this book as the synopsis sounded fun and intriguing, but little they know that this was a Hallmark kind of book… well it has a Hallmark move so… go figure.
I have never read anything from Baldacci before, and I really don’t think that his writing niche is Xmas romance books, haha But I like this sweet and cheesy Xmas story! It has a bit of everything you like! Romance, drama, crime, action, and comedy! I started to listen to this audiobook and I was so into it that almost finished it the same day that I started it.
The audiobook is around 7 hours so you could totally listen to in a day. Everytime the book moves into a new chapter there was some nice train or Xmas sounds! This is not only narrated but also have some effects to set the mood!
For those who read the same story for the holidays or that create a habit of reading specific books for a specific reason, I will recommend you this one. It is really something nice and amusing to set the right mood for Xmas. I really enjoy it and will for sure watch the movie next Xmas. I understand why some people from the book club was not thrilled by the ending of the book, but I find it quite nice and I finished it with a smile!
