Lists

Sway away from today’s doom atmosphere with these free Audible Stories!

Recently, Audible made a list of audiobooks free for everybody to listen to through streaming! We have a wide list of audiobooks for everyone at home! From the kids to the teenagers to us adults, and although we have pure entertainment books, we also have some more complex titles that can facilitate an incredible literary discussion among the members of the household!

In this list, Audible included some of their most-iconic-original-narrations in their library so that we can listen and have a good time with our children or partners. We can even keep our minds active with some deep discussions and high literature criticism with this selection! So, if you are not a fan of audiobooks or you are not sure if this is a service for you, you should give a try to these 5 free audiobooks!

Get your ears trained by listening to:

Narrated by no other than Scarlett Johansson, Audible gives free access to the amazing Lewis Carroll’s iconic story of Alice a girl who falls into a  rabbit hole and gets transported to a bizarre world! Rumor has it that this title was a clear mockery of the monarchy, but Queen Victoria still loved it! Only 2 hours and 44 minutes long, this is a sure tale that will entertain all audiences!

Anne of Green Gables

Another title that you can only find in Audible! Rachel McAdams, Regina George or Allie Hamilton, narrates this incredible Canadian classic of Anne of Green Gables an adoptive girl that ends up in a household of a farm family who thought they had adopted a boy instead; however, her wit and charm change the lives of her new family and town! (PD: this is supposed to be a great title for your dogs too!)

A Brave New World

For lovers of dystopian and classics, Audible brings us one of Aldous Huxley’s most predominant works, and even though it was published back in 1932, it is still relevant! A world in which we have conquered everything, reproduction becomes the main tool to control the world. With an incredible concept of speciesism, we can analyze this title and question our morals towards animals and humans.

Another famous narrator! Audible is making sure that we have not only an audiobook but an audio experience! Thandie Newton gives a new life to a Victorian Classic that we haven’t forgotten yet! As Newton tales the gothic story of Jane Eyre, we can fall in love once again with Charlotte’s writing in her most notable novel! Are you able to see how society in this title gave marriage and being a governess the only options for women to earn a respectful living?

The Call of the Wild

Recently adapted to the big screen starred by Harrison Ford! Jack London tells the story of Buck a dog who is stolen from his Californian household to be trained as a sled dog for the frozen area of Yukon. In a tale of survival, love, and hope, The Call of the Wild is the perfect novel for children who love their dogs and for those dogs that love their best friend! Narrated by Pablo Schreiber, we can find this title only at Audible!

  1. I’ve been meaning to invest more time in reading the classics so this is another perfect solution! Thanks so much for bringing my attention to this 😀 Though, I’ll have to consider setting up an Audible account. Haven’t made the leap yet because I don’t listen to many audiobooks in general :/

      1. Oh! Well that’s great news! I’ll get right on this then. Free is what I live and die by LOL. I think my main issue is I don’t know what to do with myself when listening to an audiobook, especially now. I used to take long walks and listen at work when I had some free time, but now I can barely go outside and I’m too focused to listen to an audio when I’m working from home 🤣
