Free books online? Yes! You can read online for free!

Times are difficult and money has become scarce! However, we are in a constant lookup for entertainment that can help us forget what is going on, temporarily, and also that can help us keep our mind active! Always in difficult times the arts take control, and we start seeing once again their value, and we can actually agree that they have been neglected! Right?

As the month stretches so does our budgets, but we can still get free ebooks here and there! Although we are unable to go to the libraries, we can still read for free! But, you might ask: how to read free books online? Well, I have ventured into Amazon´s infinite catalog and found a little place where I and you can do this! You can access such a place here, but if you want to know what kind of free ebooks you can find there, here is a list of 5 classic British books that can help you spend some of this quarantine time!

Pride and Prejudice

Some of Jane Austen´s titles have become part of the public domain archive, which is such great news for those reading on a budget or those who are in love with her writing. Yes, there are incredibly beautiful covers for these books, but the stories are already free! So if you wish to embark into her stories, this is the moment!

Persuasion

I mean who does not love Austen´s long and dramatic narrations? Who does not like to see how life was much simpler or more complicated… back then? Staying true to herself, Austen delivers a social commentary disguised as a fairy tale that tells us that happiness is in the same place where we find love!

The War of the Worlds

Ahead o his time, Wells delivers a chilling story of how humanity faces its near extermination! In “hands” or in the tentacles of the extraterrestrial beings that have come to earth! Somber and ominous as its movie,  The War of the Worlds tell us that there is still hope in most extraordinary events!

The Invisible Man

No need to pay, no need to rent, just buy for free? The Invisible Man, another of H.G. Wells stories that come to amaze us with is creativity and uniqueness! There aren’t invisibility humans without thinking of The Invisible Man, we talked about this once before since a new adaptation was released 2 months ago. A scientist’s invention that worked too well gave a resolution contrary to its purpose: drive its creator down to madness!

The Secret Garden

A secretive story of Mary an orphan that has to go and live with her uncle in a great Victorian mansion! Although their family and their life are full of secrets, there is still one that is bigger and more magical than any other! It has been adapted a few times, we have a new adaptation coming that promises the same old secret but way too magical for the human’s mind!

There are some other books that you might be able to enjoy for free from Amazon’s catalog but you will need to look for yourself. However, that is fine! Who does not like to go book shopping? And this time, yes! you can get them all!

  1. Thanks for this! Many sites that provide ebooks are very generous in giving some of the classics for free! I found quite a few free ones on both Apple and Google play books 😀

On a completely random note: I finally watched The Thing About Harry 😉

      1. Reading certainly does help keep *some* of the voices away 🤣

And I really liked it!!! I will admit that I wasn’t a HUGE fan of Sam but I really liked Harry ❤ I thought Sam was a little unfair to Harry, especially in the beginning, but I'm glad it worked out in the end. I was so surprised that it took place across a span of months! Also, Stasia's outfit at the end?! My god, what a treasure lol

      2. Yeah! Some hahaha

Sam was really judgmental maybe haha but I think that that made them stick together longer for it to work out haha Harry so ready for some 1on1 party at the motel haha and that might have been the end of things xD

Harry is simply ♡♡♡ haha he is for sure one of the best! And Statia was so nice and then so wrong and then so nice ! Haha I am so happy you liked it! I watched it 5 times in a week hahaa

      3. LOL, I know. Harry was READY. I was like, is this a short film? Will it end here? I didn’t expect to take such an interesting turn!

It was such a fun film. Thanks for recommending it to me. I can definitely see myself watching it again in the near future 😉
