So, who is David Levithan? That is such a simple question! He is an American author and editor for the publishing house Scholastic. He is from New Jersey, and he has written many books on his own. He has also collaborated with other great authors. He dreamed to write gay stories that moved away from the same old norm of literature (ex. the stories that go around the same plot: the gay uncle, the teen who gets beaten up for being gay, or about outcasts who came out and found they were still outcasts). He is well known for creating extremely strong gay characters.

Boy Meets Boy

Super short to get to know him! His first book every published, “Boy Meets Boy” develops a world where people are simply free to be who they want to be without fear, prejudice, or hatred. Sugary sweet, funny, and delightful, David reminds us that the road to love is complicated and strange regardless of how perfect the world is.
Every Day

“Every Day” simply blew my mind! David narrates the love story of “A” something that wakes up every day in a different body, in a different town, in a different life. “A” does not know what it is, all it knows is the current body it wakes up in. One day, “A” is a boy, another day “A” is a girl, and, other days, “A“ does not identify as either of them. All ”A“ knows is that it finally feel in love, but what can ”A“ do if after 24 hours, it will be in another body? (Full Review Here)
Two Boys Kissing

Another of my all time favorites! Two Boys Kissing tells the story of different gay teenagers and their struggles. How they come to fight society, how they come to accept who they are, how they find again their path after diverging into a desperate road of self-destruction. This story moved me to core not only for their struggles but also because the narrator is an omniscient collective voice of those brothers that died in the 80’s HIV epidemic. (Full Review Here)
