At the beginning of the month, I came across with one of Neil deGrasse Tyson’s tweets about the Mars and Earth being really close to each other! I tried to use my telescope but it was a cloudy night for me, so I failed on attempting to catch a glimpse of Mars. I was distress so I went to my Audible account and looked for astrology audiobooks that I could try to quench my thirst for space!
So, if you are into the universe and its mysteries, you better put your suit on and load your oxygen mask because this will be small step for man/women but a huge step for us readers!
Allow me to show you 6 different books that will take you from Earth to the infinite universe!
George’s Secret Key to the Universe / La clave secreta del universo by Lucy and Stephen Hawking
We have an option for all of you to get your tiptoes wet into the world of physics and space travel! What other book is better to get us on a trip of this magnitude than one written by Stephen and Lucy Hawking? This story tells us the adventures of George and his neighbors! George gets to use a super computer called Cosmos that gets him into an amazing adventure, which teaches him the secrets of the universe! In both Spanish and English, this book is just an easy to digest story to capture the minds of those in love with space.
The Science of Sci-Fi by Erin Macdonald, The Great Courses
Letโs do this one step at the time! One book at a time and one light year at a time! 3 hours and 59 mins is not much to start our journey into the immensity of the galaxies! Sci-Fi is more concerned on getting you to another planet or moon than on how to get you to understand how to get there! But Erin Macdonald wraps us into an easy to understand lecture that underlines the truth behind the science on those favorite books that we have read! Beginning with an overview of the physics of time and space, Professor Macdonald shows how stories extrapolate current knowledge to create visions of the future!

Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
This is a process! A slow and melodious process, but sometimes, we have to hurry and Neil deGrasse Tyson helps us understand the nature of space and time in this 3 hours book! Why are we here? and how are we here? In this busy time where we donโt have time to check out the stars, Neil brings the stars to us! In this story, we will cover the basics of astrophysics from the quarks and quantum mechanics to the big bang and black holes. You finish lunch and you still have 30 mins left? Why donโt you become fluent in astrophysics?
When the Earth Had Two Moons By: Erik Asphaug
By now, we know a lot of the universe… but have you heard about cannibal planets? icy giants? Dirty comets? Dreadful orbits and the origin of the night sky? No? Well… me neither, so get your suit on and let us immerse into Erick Asphaugโs book! Erick, a planetary geologist, will drive this rocket into an interplanetary tour into a mind-blowing discovery!
Cosmos by Carl Sagan
I am excited about this one since 1: the author is Carl Sagan! and 2: one of the narrators is Neil deGrasse Tyson! Do you remember him? The one from โAstrophysics for People in a Hurryโ? no? Then, go back and start reading this list again! Cosmos retraces the fourteen billion year of cosmic evolution! Covering the origin of life, the human brain, the Egyptian hieroglyphics, spacecraft and more! This is not about aliens… this is about the knowledge of the universe!
The Big Picture By: Sean Carroll
This is now heavy matter and probably dark matter also! There isnโt a bigger picture than the space, and The Big Picture will complete all the previous knowledge on the origins of life and its meaning while it helps you to understand the universe itself!
In short chapters filled with intriguing historical anecdotes, personal asides, and rigorous exposition, listeners learn the difference between how the world works at the quantum level, the cosmic level, and the human level – and then how each connects to the other.
With that, I rest my case!
If you get to read all these books, you will be ready to apply for NASA or start a new career! The stars are the limit and the reach of this list is infinite!
