Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer

A great title into the weird genre! Loved the movie and I felt that if I wanted to understand something or anything about the story I had to read the book, but have I read it? No, would I read it? Maybe, but I am excited to see included in Kindle Unlimited this title! Sign up for the membership, and enjoy the book for free!

Area X has been cut off from the rest of the continent for decades. Nature has reclaimed the last vestiges of human civilization. The first expedition returned with reports of a pristine, Edenic landscape; the second expedition ended in mass suicide; the third expedition in a hail of gunfire as its members turned on one another. The members of the eleventh expedition returned as shadows of their former selves, and within weeks, all had died of cancer. In Annihilation, the first volume of Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach trilogy, we join the twelfth expedition.

American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins

We can say a book is bad until we read it… yes, I said it. I am almost sure this is bad or that the controversy is valid, but nothing like proving everybody right and bash the book after reading it! You know… make a valid argument, and you can read it for free!

Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. Then Luca exposes some secrets from the cartels and they are forced to flee to the United States. As they join the countless people trying to reach el norte, Lydia soon sees that everyone is running from something. But what exactly are they running to?

The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu

The first book of the trilogy is part of Kindle Unlimited!

Set against the backdrop of China’s Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion. The result is a science fiction masterpiece of enormous scope and vision.

Why do we have to make contact with aliens? This always ends up with trouble… like invasions! This Hugo Award Winner is coming to Netflix! So read it free and then watch the show or movie!
